BACKGROUND | UX/UI DESIGNER

 

 

UX/UI Designer at Capitec Business | April 2024 – Present

I currently work as a UX/UI Designer at Capitec Business, where I contribute to the design and development of both their Mobile App and Web platforms. Since joining the team in April 2024, I have been involved in several key projects aimed at empowering small businesses and emerging markets through innovative financial solutions.

One of my main contributions was to design a platform dedicated to providing credit to small businesses, helping them grow by offering tailored credit solutions. In this role, I focused on understanding the needs of business owners and the processes they go through to access credit. My work involved creating seamless user flows that guide business owners from retail banking to business banking, making the experience fully digital and accessible. Key features I worked on include Selfie Authentication and facilitating a smooth process from credit bureau checks to account approval.

I also played an integral part in testing these flows with potential users, ensuring they would have a positive impact on our clients and contribute meaningfully to their business growth. By incorporating user feedback, I helped refine the process to ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience.

In addition to my work on credit products, I have contributed to the rebranding of Capitec’s platforms, ensuring a cohesive and modern design language across both retail and business sectors. I have worked on icons, illustrations, and various components that are integral to the platform’s visual identity.

Currently, I am focused on the design and user experience of Capitec’s Save and Invest products, particularly for Business Notice Accounts. This product allows small businesses to make smarter financial decisions and offers them opportunities typically reserved for larger businesses, such as opening and maintaining Business Flexible Savings and 32-Day Notice Accounts. I work to ensure that the user journey is intuitive and provides control while guiding users toward optimal financial decisions.

I am also involved in digitizing important forms for the bank, such as FICA and FATCA tax compliance forms, to make these processes more efficient and user-friendly for our business clients.

Throughout my work, I utilize Figma and Adobe Illustrator to create high-quality designs that prioritize both aesthetics and functionality.
